Hough Top nos. 1-3 (Rear)
Undated. Image shows the rear and gable end of two stone built semi-detached cottages on Hough top. The rear entrance visible on the left belongs to No.3, a through terrace while in the foreground is No.1 a through-by-light terraced property with washing hanging on a line visible on the far right.

These photographs are in the early fifties as I can see our new house in the background on the Swinnow Estate we moved into there new in 1952. This was the home of the Johnson family until the demolition the outside toilets are shown. Fascinating to me - I think it was an earth closet being a wooden board with a hole in it!

I moved with my parents to a brand new Council house on Swinnow Estate in 1952. I was 5 years old. My mother still lives in the house. (2013)
