Description: 19th August 1969.
View shows the site of back-to-back streets demolished as part of Leeds slum clearance programme. In the foreground a line of stone setts can just be made out, this was the site of Osbourne Street. At the time of this view, the land was being used as an adventure playground. In the centre a large group of children and adults construct temporary play apparatus from planks of wood and sheets of corrugated iron. Houses on St. John's Avenue can be seen in the background to the left with premises of Harp Mill Paint and Varnish Co. Ltd. in the centre at No. 65 Woodsley Road. On the right is the Belle Vue Methodist Church.
