I attended MM from 1963-1967. This building was typical of the unimaginative designed boxes of this decade.

I started Sept 1961, what a fab feeling going to a new school. Posh uniform lower school girls wore berets while older girls were required to wear boaters.(That did'nt last long). The school was built on an area that locally was refered to as the tips. There were allotments and some piggeries lower down the road.

I attended this school from 1965-1970. I can remember some of the teachers at the time - Mr Gomersal, the headteacher, Miss Simpson who taught shorthand and typing, Mr Cannon who taught geography - ginger hair with a beard if I recall! Mr Granger, history, and Mr Day, chemistry (we had to evacuate the lab after one of his experiments!). The dinners left a lot to be desired, the chips were spectacular though! My mates were Linda Adams, Wendy Walker, Denise Hallam and Maureen Potter.

It was a lovely school when built in 1961. I was there as a lst year in 1961 and left in 1966. I felt I was very fortunate to have gone to a brand new school with all the modern facilities. It would be nice to hear from anyone who knew me.
