Undated Image shows the Midland Bank Limited at the junction of Boar Lane(left)and Bishopgate Street(right). This building opened June 1899 as the headquarters of the Yorkshire Banking Company, designed by architect W.W.Gwyther. In 1901 the Yorkshire Banking Company joined with the Midland Bank and the London City Bank, eventually becoming Midland Bank Ltd.The building has recentlybeen home to the Observatery wine bar and Flares night club
