27th June 1990. Colour photograph of John O'Gaunts Service Station on Leeds Road. Several cars are parked in the forecourt. Houses on Rosewood Court can be seen in the background.

Does anyone know who John of Gaunt is or was please ?

John of Gaunt (1st Duke of Lancaster) was the third surviving son of Edward III. Known as the king maker - his third child was Henry IV of England. He is reputed to killed the last wild boar in England on styebank in Rothwell in 1399.
