Street Lane, Birchfield Avenue junction
6th February 1980. View from Street Lane of the junction with Birchfield Avenue. On the right is no. 52 Street Lane; behind that is no. 2 Birchfield Avenue. Snow is covering the gardens but has mostly gone from the paths and road.

User Comments:

Steve Backhouse

No.52 used to be a shop. You can just make out where the shop front has been replaced by the large window. I believe the shop was owned by the Greenough's

David Nassur

Steven Backhouse is right, the shop is right next to the site of the old Street Lane school. Perfect location for a shop.
