Merrion Centre, Barclays Bank
August 1991. Looking from Albion Street onto the Merrion Centre at the junction of Woodhouse Lane and Merrion Street. Barclays Bank is in the centre. On the left is the Yorkshire Electricity Board showroom and on the right Specsavers opticians.

I remember working in the appliance repair section of the YEB showroom during the 1960s. This was a plum job for an apprentice electrician(warm, dry, lots of attractive sales ladies, central to the city etc.) Only lasted a couple of weeks as we had to do the rounds of all the YEB sections. We just repaired kettles mainly and a few obvious faults on other small appliances, all the rest went to the main appliance repair section at Whitehall road.
