19th November 1979. View of Arthington Lane showing the junction with Main Street to the right and Pool Bank to the left. The White Hart public house is on the right of the picture Midland Bank and B & P.J. Shepherd, newsagents, can be seen on Main Street, with an advertisement for the Evening Post and Yorkshire Post on the wall outside the newsagents.

My great grand-uncle, Thomas Lodge, born 1827, is recorded as licensed victualer at the White Hart Inn, Main Street, Pool, Yorkshire, in the 1881 census, and in 1891 as its innkeeper.
