I remember this area before the shops were built. Just open fields and just another 150 mts before this is the Fox and Hounds and Horsforth station where I used to go train spotting (heavens forbid). I lived at no. 83 from 1953 long before the Moseley Woods were built. There was a narrow path leading down to Horsforth Beck where you could sit on the grass and watch the trains go by. Happy days M B Worsnop

There was a newspaper shop in this parade, I used to walk all the way down here from Holt Park as a kid because the shop owner didn't bat an eyelid when I handed over my money for the "top-shelf" magazines.

I beleive the 3rd shop up would be my Aunty Fay's hardware shop, if you look carefully you can see the sign says 'fay's'.

Yes, I remember the newsapepr shop on one end and the grocery shop on the other. I think the newspaper shop was run by a man called Roy and his wife had a hairdressers underneath. I think the grocer was Mr Smith!I lived in Cookridge in the 1960's & 70's

I lived in Carr Bridge Drive from about 1966 until 1971 (when I emigrated to Australia at 18) and I did a morning and afternoon paper round for about three years for the newsagent which from memory was called "Ireland's".

I worked as a part time greengrocer in these shop units(3rd from the left) c.1993 for Barratts of Cookridge. The family business was previously located in Headingley. Great times and a great education in both life and work! Hair Fashions is still to this day a hairdressers (not sure its the same business though!)
