Abbey Inn, from Pollard Lane
Spring 2004. View of the Abbey Inn from Pollard Lane, a two storey stone building. It is located adjacent to the railway line between the River Aire and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

The number of times we have hit the wall end ,to the right of the photo,with a home made "bogie"beggars belief.We built mostly 6 wheelers with 4 or 5 on,mad but happy days!!

Down Pollard Lane then over the canal the railway and river to Newley Lane, was a very useful shortcut between Bramley and Horsforth. It has been closed to motor vehicles for quite some time now. A great pity as there are all too few river crossings in Leeds.
