Shannon Street, Marsh Lane junction
9th November 1984. Colour photograph of Shannon Street showing the junction with Marsh Lane on the left. The derelict looking gable end of no. 86 Marsh Lane can be seen in the centre. A red double decker bus is among traffic on Marsh Lane, travelling towards the junction with York Road; a road bridge runs overhead.

I think this must be the gable end of Tomasso"s grocery shop you could buy anything there it was allways full of kids from Quarry Hill shoping for our Mums.Behind it was a chap who hired out tinglarys one used to have a monkey sat on the top that was back in 1938 seems a long time ago now but i remember it well . My Dads family ( McGuinness) lived on Marsh lane & Shannon street in the 20's and 30's anyone remember them? Whatever happened to all those wonderful stone sets that were covered with Tarmac prior to the slum clearances of the late 50's. There must have been so many miles of them from all the old streets
