Description: 2005.
Images shows a single storey white building with corrugated roof which houses Lofthouse Library and Post Office. Opening times for the library are displayed on a red board outside. The library and post office are accessible by either a flight of steps or a ramp, both with handrails. The building, in pre-cast concrete opened on Saturday 24th June 1961. The previous library, located in Lofthouse Methodist Schoolroom, had only a small collection of 350 books suppied by Rothwell Library. The new library was able to accommodate several thousand books, and meant that most people in the Rothwell area had a library within half a mile of their home.
