Middleton Arms, Middleton Park Circus

Description:
2005. Image shows the brick built Middleton Arms Public House at Middleton Park Circus. It opened as a hotel in 1925 when the manager was Paul Hall. The hotel had a magnificent ballroom decorated with murals, it also had a tennis court and sunken garden. Between 1930 and 1934, Catholic Mass was celebrated in the ballroom. A sign 'to let' is to the left of the front entrance.

this public house was in my family for sometime and another thing this does not tell you about the ballroom is that it used to have a sprung dance-floor which they ripped out to lay a new modern dance-floor. not many people know that. it also has corridoors underground and has diesel genorators still there and changing rooms for both sexes.

Sadly the Middleton Arms is no more. It was gutted in a fire just before Christmas.
