My sister and I used to get on the tram at the pavilion, while it travelled down to G.Cohens turning the seat backrests the otherway ready for the tram to travel back to Leeds. The conductor seemed happy to let us do this in exchange for the ride. We also used to ride on the tram to visit my grandparents all the way to York rd.

I remember how, in the mid to late 1960s, a couple of buses nearly always used to be parked here, as it was the terminus of the no. 14 (Half Mile Lane) service.
