A sign in Jarvis walk indicates 'Caution Work in Progress' and metal fencing has been erected around the prefabricated housing. Shortly after the photograph was taken this house was demolished. It was the last of the prefabs to go in this location and they had outlived their 10 year lifespan by many years. Erected at the end of the Second World War they were designed as an answer to the housing shortage. They have since been replaced by brick built bungalows.
