Description:
23rd August 1933. A woman, wearing a typical hat and coat of the 1930s watches the events taking place in Victoria Square. King George V and Queen Mary have made a royal visit to Leeds to open the new Civic Hall. The procession was accompanied by various parades and a mounted escort of Life Guards. The statue of Queen Victoria, which can still be seen in its present location on Woodhouse Moor, is to the left, and Oxford Place Chapel is to the right.
