Recreation Ground
Undated. In 1922 the Parish Council bought the field known as Crosbys, located at the corner of Old Lane and Sugar Lane. The money was raised by public subscription as a memorial to those who died in the First World War. In 1951 the ground was levelled creating a football pitch. Cricket has also been played here.

I remember going elbow over tip on my way to playing football on this pitch,i had borrowed i bike from one of my fellow scouts,my foot slipped off the pedal and went into the front wheel,it took all the skin off my elbow and knees. We had many great times at the camp site in the fifties.
