Osmondthorpe Lodge, south of Halton Dial Railway
Undated. Image shows Osmondthorpe Lodge which was located South of the Halton Dail Railway, near to the railway bridge at the junction of Selby Road/York Road. It was demolished when the land was required for the building of pre-war housing estate.

I have found a reference to man named John Simpson who died there in 1818 aged 60 years. He was buried at Leeds Parish church 15/04/1818.

My grandfather John James Laine lived at Osmandthorpe Lodge with his wife and family. He was shed superintendant for the Stockton Darlington railway, retiring about.. 1950, He had four children,John, Sydney, Percy, Dora and Janet. His wife was a Madison.
