Description:
c1938 View of the north side of York Road showing nos.143-147. On the left, next to the junction with Freehold Street, is the Victoria Hotel at no.143. Alongside this no.145 is the Freehold Wallpaper Stores, the business of S.T. Richardson, then no.147 appears to be unoccupied, with windows broken or boarded up. On the right is an advertisement for the City Palace of Varieties.
