York Road, junction with Glenthorpe Avenue
c1938 View of the north side of York Road showing the junction with Glenthorpe Avenue on the left, and that with Glenthorpe Terrace on the right. The buildings in between, including the shops at nos.217 and 219 York Road, are due to be demolished. No.217, Craven Brothers, boot repairers, looks like it may still be open, but no.219, Miss Elizabeth Marshall, grocer, appears to be closed and boarded up. Advertising hoardings can be seen, including ones for Oxo.
