c1954. Informal portrait of the Vicar of Woodkirk, the Reverend Claude Stephenson and his wife, Florence Annie. Reverend Stephenson was vicar at Woodkirk from 1940 until 1962. He was ordained shortly before the start of World War 1 and served as a temporary chaplain in France, Germany and Belgium. He died in 1968, aged 81. Image used courtesy of Peter Aldred.
