Cross Hills, numbers 11 and 13
C1960s. Old property in Cross Hills numbered 11 and 13. Number 11 is J & B Butterfield's Fish, fruit and vegetable shop with Kippax West Riding County Library adjacent at number 13. Far right is the Methodist Chapel which was demolished in 1969. Leeds Road (B1637) is off camera, right.

User Comments:

I grew up in Kippax during the 60's and Mr Butterfield's was where we headed with our 5p pocket money...because he sold Pomegranet's !!! We thought they were the most exotic things on the planet and had never seen the like, a far cry from the hypermarkets of today.
