View of Adel Church from the graveyard. The oldest of the gravestones inscriptions is one near the Church door. It is carved on a flat stone and is in memory of Ralph Midgley of West Breary and fourteen members of his family, and dates from 1694. The great South porch, seen here, is one of the finest examples of Norman stone carving in the country. The Church at Adel dates from C1150.
