Wade Lane, Tower North Central
February 2007. View of Wade Lane looking towards the nineteen-storey Tower North Central, built in 1967 as Tower House. It was renovated and re-clad recently (2003-2004). The octagonal building on the left is Junction 7, formerly the General Wade public house and at the rear of it is the Bowling Alley in the Merrion Centre. The crane shows that work is commencing on the building of a student accommodation block by developer, Opal Properties Group Ltd. The 114 apartments which will occupy the 26 storey building are due to be completed in 2008. Opal Tower, also known as Wade Lane Residential is to be built on the site of the Little London public house. Part of Fairfax House is visible on the right.
