Description: 1901.
Image shows a yard at the rear of cottages on the West side of Lower Templar Street, looking North. This gives an indication of how over crowded properties were in this area and why demolition was carried out in line with Local Government Provisional Orders (Housing of Working Classes (no. 2) Bill. In the background there are premises on Hope Street. This part of Hope Street included Joseph Rosencrantz, tailor, at number 30, S & H. Rakusen Brothers at number 32, makers of Passover cakes and the public baths at number 34.
