After the school closed down it was used as the Leeds Branch College of Building until its demolition. I went there in 1968-69 for 12 months as a pre-apprentice.

I attended this school from 1949/57. Some of the teachers were Mr Holmes[old chuck] Mr Taylor [old harry] Mr Webb, Mr Bandwell [old bandy] Miss Parsonage [in a pear tree] and Mr Lilliott the headmaster. Gosh I remember it well, almost brings a tear to my eye.

The school caretaker always needed someone to keep the boilers going if he took a holiday or was absent during term time. My father was a local school caretaker and he took me with him when he stoked the boilers in the 1950's.

I taught Slating and Tiling there as lecturer whilst working for Leeds College of Building from September 1983 until it closed down. in fact I was the last lecturer to leave the premises after supervising the removal of workshop materials an equipment. Upon locking up and handing back the keys it was obvious that members of the travelling community we're awaiting to set up camp in the school yard and take advantage of the emtpty building upon our departure.
