Undated. Image shows the Hackney Carriage Department on the ground floor of the Municipal Buildings, part of the Leeds City Police Headquarters. The windows on the right overlook Calverley Street. a partition across the room screens off the Inspector's Office beyond and the door is marked private. This area is now the Bookstop of the Central Library. It was the Headquarters of the police between 1935 and 1949.
