Description:
May 2005. View of the former Assembly Rooms building on New Briggate by the junction with Harrison Street, showing the entrance boarded up. Opened in 1878 as part of the Grand Theatre complex, it became a Cinema in 1907, which it remained until it's closure in 1985, having been renamed The Plaza in 1958. Advertisments for productions at the Grand Theatre can be seen, including Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers'.
