Image shows the interior of Kippax Branch Library which was opened by Councillor Alderman T. Batty on 15th November 1973. It is built on three levels, connected by a hardwood staircase, all of which can be seen here. The main library is in the foreground with books in the non-fiction section lining the walls. It is fully carpeted with comfortable seating provided for library users. Stairs leading up to the Reference section which has a study area. Two young girls stand at the top of the stairs down to the lower level where the children's library is situated. The staff facilities are also on this level. At this time, until 1974 and re-organisation, Kippax Library was managed by West Riding County Council.
