Quarry Hill Flats undergoing demolition.
Description:
C1970s. Scaffolding is in place on Quarry Hill flats as demolition is in progress. This is Nielson House with what was originally an archway for vehicles. This was blocked off in 1969 when the York Road flyover was built. This archway faced Regent Street. The flats, dating from the 1930s, were demolished between 1975 and 1978. this photo must have been taken after March 1975 because we moved out in Febuary and went to live on Green Road

We used to play in this 'bow' as we used to call it! If you walked through and up to the left you came to Moynihan House where we lived!
