View from Middleton Road of the former Belle Isle County Secondary School built c1959. After several changes of name and organisation (Belle Isle Middle School, Merlyn Rees, South Leeds Arts College Merlyn Rees) it finally closed in the September of 2006. The final two years as South Leeds High School were the result of an amalgamation with Matthew Murray. Pupils now attend South Leeds School, a new PFI school which opened in 2006.
