South Leeds High School, Middleton Road
2007/8. Demolition has begun on South Leeds High School, also remembered as Merlyn Rees and Belle Isle County Secondary School. For a period in the 1970s it was a middle school, catering for Belle Isle pupils between 9 and 13. It became South Leeds High School on amalgamation with Matthew Murray in 2004. Pupils were transferred to the new South Leeds School in 2006 and demolition began on the two old school sites, Merlyn Rees and Matthew Murray.
