View of Shadwell Branch Library situated at 99 Main Street. The library is housed in an old Methodist Chapel dating from 1814. When new Chapel was opened in 1892 on the opposite side of the road, this building became the Sunday School, combining that use with an evening branch library after Leeds Corporation took up tenancy of the building in 1929 and subsequently bought it. The building is now Grade II listed.
