Description: Undated.
Interior view showing the Drawing Room of Highfield House in Gledhow Lane. It is likely to have been taken in the 1880s when George Campbell was in residence. He, with his brother, James, ran the Hunslet Engine Co. Ltd. in Jack Lane. The room is decorated in Victorian style with many pictures hanging from the rails and opulent soft furnishings, including a fur rug draped over a piece of furniture. An ornate candelabra is suspended from the ceiling, and on the small table there is a cluster of what appear to be family photographs. Nowadays, Highfield House is numbered as 15 Allerton Park and is occupied in 2009 by Dr Simon & Mrs Debra Fellerman.
