This stone built house, painted by local artist, Fred Swaine was the home of Ben Keighley, a grocer by trade. He is listed on the 1881 Census with his wife Sarah, unmarried daughter, Grace, a mantle maker, married daughter, Maria Ann Wright, a sewing machinist and his grandaughter Edith and grandson, Fred aged 4 and 2 respectively. A horse and cart has driven into Woodhall Road from Shell Lane.
