Colton Road, from Selby Road junction
c1966 View of Colton Road from the junction with Selby Road, showing, in the centre, the Grade II listed buildings of nos.1-2 Colton Road. No.1., with a car parked outside, is the shop of R. Hardaker, newsagents and tobacconists. The cottages to the right at nos.3-4 are also listed.

I used to be a paperboy at this shop, i started there when it was owned by a Mr Stafford in 1962. opposite this was the coop and the brown cow pub and I think st marys chrch

Small house to left of shop on Selby Road itself still shows date of 1744.Had to run by this house to Temple Moor playing fields just to the left of picture (now housing estate) in early sixties
