Harrogate Road, looking north
26th April 1966 View of Harrogate Road looking north towards the junction with Stainbeck Lane. On the left a cleared area is blocked off from the road by advertsing hoardings. Beyond this are houses on Ingle Row. On the right is a row of shops, library and police station and the Chapel Allerton Methodist Church. Cars are parked on both sides of the road.

On the left of the picture there was building work taking place which was going to be the brand new Grandways Supermarket. I think now it is the Casa Mia restaurant.
