c1991/2. Image shows Quarry House under construction, the new headquarters for the Department of Health and Social Security. It occupies the site of Quarry Hill flats which were demolished by 1978. The design of Quarry House included a swimming pool and leisure facilities for the 2000 staff, many of whom transferred from London when the building opened in 1993.
