My Great Aunty, Beatty Brown, was the landlady in the 1940's. Does anyone remember her?

Just before my dad died he told me that his uncle was having a few drinks at this pub and he showed the people he was drinking with 2 gold soverins that he had. When he left the pub much the worse for drink he was set upon and his soverins stolen.

My dad Harry Watson was the landlord 1952-54.it was a great pub in those days. The customers were the nicest people that you could hope to meet. Dad took that pub over, when it was run right down. He built it up, through hard work, but the brewery,Ind coopes, like all breweries, didn't appreciate it.
