St. Hilda
February 2008. Image shows a gable end of back-to-back housing scheduled for demolition and unoccupied. The houses facing left are in St. Hilda's Avenue and the end one is number 25. There is a glimpse of St. Hilda's Grove to the right edge. The house to the right in the gable end is number 26 St. Hilda's Grove. Old advertising, although much faded, is still visible on the gable end. It reads 'Hemingway's Noted Ales. Try our "Big Bens". J.W. Hemingway, Brewer, is listed in the Directory of Leeds at number 4, All Saints Road, off York Road. Part of St. Hilda's Church in Cross Green Lane can be seen in the background, left. The photograph is taken from Glencoe View.
