In the early 60's I lived on the Moor Grange estate and went to school at Brudenell C.S. near Cardigan Lane. My Cousin Frank Henderson, lived on Cardigan Road and went to school here. We use to look out for each other as the buses passed on Queenswood Drive each morning.

This picture is exactly as I remember this part of the school. We walked down that slope to the gates many a time and if the gates were locked (which they often were) we simply climbed over them. I lived on Parkstone Green and my mum was a cleaner at the school along with many other local mums. In the school holidays, while our mums were cleaning, we would spend many hours here. Sometimes we helped scrubbing the desks with wire wool and sweeping the stairs but mostly, time was spent exploring this school. To this day, this school has to be the best I have ever known for its facilities. There were metal rooms (these were situated in the right of this picture) the other side were the woodwork rooms. To the right of the pic which you cannot see, there was an annexe which housed the art rooms, pottery rooms and a room with canoes in where they did something with fibre glass. We spent hours in all of these classrooms using all of these facilities, (this would never be allowed today) but it was all great fun. Then there was the gym with all the bars on the walls, the ropes, horses and a massive trampoline. Upstairs was a classroom full of glass tanks with locusts and grasshoppers in them. I'm female and went to West Park Girls School but I can still picture the exact layout of all of Moor Grange Boys School due to the hours we spent there while our mums cleaned. Very happy memories.
