Undated. Aerial view of Chapel Allerton showing to the right of centre the crossroads between Stainbeck Road, left to right, and Scott Hall Road, top to bottom. Below the crossroads are Stainbeck Lane, Miles Hill Road and Potternewton Lane. Above and to the left of the crossroads is an undeveloped area which would shortly become the Carr Manor Estate and Alwoodley Park estate. King Lane leads from Scott Hall Road towards the top left.

The barthorpes shops are there, as are the wensleys off stainbeck road. and you can make out as rough tracks carr manor crescent and carr manor road, in fact the first houses at the king lane end of carr manor road are being built. These were not the 1950's Schultz houses that made jup most of the Carr manors, but are solid 1930's houses. So I estimate this photo is sometime around 1930-35 I think the houses on the right margin half way up the frame are the falklands estate. You can make out the co-op by the stainbeck lane/stainbeck road junction. Think it is sainsburys now.
