The Queens was the watering hole for the youth of Stourton and Klondyke. Long forgotten boys like "Harry Garnett,Dave Rawlinson,Cliff Reid,Barry McLeod and many more. The pub lost it's identity when JOHN WADDINGTON renamed it Colonel Mustards.

The Queen was where me and my mates had our first illicit underage drinks, as most of our parents went in either the Stourton Hotel or one of the two working mens clubs Until a change in the Leeds licencing laws, the Queen used to get very full at about 10.30 on a friday and saturday night as Stourton was officially in the West Riding, and as such the pub's stayed open 'til 11!

We used to have some good nights here in the 60s> I played in a band and we used to play fri/sat nights on a fairly regular basis. The band was called "The Corals" Does anyone remember? I seem to remember someone making a short cine film one night, I would love to get hold of this.
