Killingbeck High Tech Site
Autumn 1982. Image show the site reserved for the construction of a High Technology Park on the former grounds of Killingbeck Hospital. It shows the pond on marshy land which was to be drained for the development scheme to commence. The park was to be called Acorn Business Park and the council was hoping to attract businesses in the field of computers and electronics with the aim to create a wealth of new jobs. In the background, left, Brecon Court and Brecon Rise are visible. These are two blocks of highrise flats constructed in 1965 on 12 floors to a height of 36 metres.
