October 1986. Image shows Jeoffrey 'Scully' Walwyn and David Phillips who had recently completed a one-year course in Computer Studies at Technorth in Harrogate Road. This had enabled them to take part in a work placement scheme in the Council's Public Works Department. Technorth offered a two year Youth Training Scheme in Computing and Electronics for school leavers, as well as courses for Adults and evening courses. There were 16 small industrial units for small businesses in the field of high technology.
