Image shows Councillor Suzi Armitage as she presents a cheque for £500 to Mr. Thomas Laverty of the Committee of Stanks Swarcliffe Community Centre. The money was made available through the Miscellaneous Councillors' Expenditure scheme or MICE as it was known. The scheme allowed Councillors up to £10,000 to donate to worthy causes and projects of their choice. The committee of Stanks Swarcliffe Community Centre chose to use the money to refurbish the interior of the community hall in order to generate more income from private party hire and bookings for functions.
