Description: Undated.
View of shop properties in North Street looking south towards the City Centre. Behind the camera are the junctions with Manor Street, Roundhay Road, Chapeltown Road and Sheepscar Street North. Leo Brennan sewing machine repairs is at number 219 North Street on the right, then Martins Same Day Cleaners is at number 217. The tall building in the centre background, with a small dome, is the Midland Bank at number 195 North Street and it stands at the junction with Meanwood Road. Three trams can be seen, incuding in the foreground no. 341, bound for Harehills on route no. 3. This is one of the 'Convert' cars, built as open-balcony in 1921-1922 and later converted to all-enclosed. Between the trams is a building which once housed Stylo Shoes but in this image the name is indecipherable.
