Description: c1980s.
View of Cottingley Hall Cemetery and Crematorium on Churwell Ring Road, showing a chapel and grounds, with flower beds in the foreground. The cemetery was built on the site of the historic Cottingley Hall Estate. The hall itself, which dated from Tudor times, was still in existence as a farm at the time the cemetery was built in the 1930s but was later demolished to make way for the Cottingley Housing Estate. To the left of centre is the statue 'Winged Victory' by Henry Charles Fehr which was originally part of the Leeds City War Memorial in Victoria Gardens but was moved here in the 1960s.
