Looking north-east at the high-rise flats of Cottingley Heights, left, and Cottingley Towers, believed to be the tallest blocks of flats in Leeds. Opened in 1972 they are 220 feet high with twenty-five storeys. At the foot of these with white pyramid roofs is the shopping complex built to serve the new Cottingley estate, including a post office, fish and chip shop, launderette and the Sphinx public house. To the left is part of Cottingley Primary School.
