Plan showing the layout of a typical pre-fabricated home built on the Cottingley Housing Estate in the late 1940s. The pre-fabs were built on the site of the old Cottingley Hall estate, intended as a temporary measure to solve a housing shortage, but it was not until the 1970s that more permanent dwellings replaced them.
